- Imaging Tests: Imaging tests are commonly used to detect kidney tumors and determine their size and location. These tests may include:
- Ultrasound: Uses sound waves to create images of the kidneys and surrounding structures.
- Computed Tomography (CT) Scan: Provides detailed cross-sectional images of the kidneys, allowing doctors to visualize any tumors.
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scan: Uses magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of the kidneys, helping to identify tumors and assess their extent.
- Intravenous Pyelogram (IVP): Involves injecting a contrast dye into a vein, which helps outline the kidneys, ureters, and bladder on X-ray images.
