Lauren A. Mauro, MD, is a hematologist/oncologist with The GW Medical Faculty Associates and an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.  Her interests include breast oncology, gastrointestinal oncology and general hematology.

Dr. Mauro completed medical school and residency training in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.  She then worked as a hospitalist at The Washington Hospital Center in DC followed by a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.  As a fellow, she did clinical research with the gastrointestinal oncology research group focusing on pancreatic cancer.
