Biography

Arjun Joshi, MD is board-certified in Otolaryngology and Head & Neck surgery by both the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.  He is also an associate professor with The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences.

Brought up in New York, Dr. Joshi graduated with Honors from Cornell University.  He received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Syracuse where he was awarded the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha distinction, given to the top 5% of students in the graduating class.

Following a 5 year residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at The George Washington University Medical Center, Dr. Joshi completed an intensive fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery, Microvascular Head and Neck Reconstruction, and Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.  Following his fellowship in Canada, he traveled to Germany to learn salivary endoscopy (sialendoscopy) as well as head and neck ultrasound.

He is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, the American Head and Neck Society, the American Thyroid Association, and many other regional and national organizations.

Dr. Joshi takes great pride in training the next generation of medical students, residents, and surgeons at The George Washington University.  Through free screening programs offered throughout the year by The George Washington University, Dr. Joshi provides patient outreach and education. He has also lectured widely regionally, nationally, and internationally and has authored numerous publications and textbook chapters within the field.

His areas of expertise include: Head and Neck Cancer, Head and Neck Masses, Head and Neck Reconstruction, Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery, and Salivary Endoscopy.
