Why Breast Cancer Screening Is Important
Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in the United States. Regular screening plays a critical role in early detection, often identifying cancer before symptoms appear. When breast cancer is found early, treatment options may be less invasive and outcomes are significantly improved.
Routine screening offers peace of mind and can save lives.
Who Should Be Screened?
Breast cancer screening recommendations depend on factors such as age, personal health history, and family risk. Our specialists follow national screening guidelines while tailoring plans to meet your individual needs.
- Individuals age 40 and older: Annual mammograms are commonly recommended.
- Those at higher risk: If you have a family history of breast cancer, known genetic mutations, or other risk factors, your provider may recommend earlier or more frequent screening.
- Individuals under 40: Screening may be appropriate depending on personal and family risk factors—talk with your provider to determine the best approach.
Breast cancer can affect people of all genders. Our team is committed to providing inclusive, respectful care for every patient.
Our Breast Cancer Screening Services
We offer state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostic services designed to provide accurate results and timely follow-up care.
3D Mammography (Tomosynthesis)
The most advanced form of mammography, 3D imaging creates detailed views of breast tissue, improving cancer detection — especially for individuals with dense breasts.
Breast Ultrasound
Often used as a supplemental screening tool, ultrasound can help further evaluate areas of concern found on a mammogram or provide additional clarity for dense breast tissue.
Breast MRI
MRI screenings are recommended for individuals at high risk of breast cancer and are used as part of a comprehensive screening strategy.
Genetic Testing & Risk Assessment
For patients with a strong family history of breast cancer, we offer genetic counseling and testing to better understand inherited risk and guide personalized screening and prevention plans.
What to Expect During Your Mammogram
Your comfort and well-being are our priority. A screening mammogram is a quick, non-invasive exam that typically takes about 20 minutes. Our highly trained technologists will explain each step of the process and ensure your experience is as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Helpful tips for your visit:
- Wear a two-piece outfit for convenience
- Avoid deodorants, powders, or lotions on the day of your exam
- Bring prior imaging records if they were completed at another facility
