Revolutionary Research and Cancer Discovery
The GW Cancer Center boasts state-of-the-art research facilities dedicated to cancer discovery through interdisciplinary collaboration with scientists and clinicians throughout the GW School of Medical and Health Sciences (SMHS), and the Medical Faculty Associates. These partnerships, across campus and across the country, facilitate novel approaches to cancer diagnosis and treatment in Cancer Control and Health Equity, Cancer Biology and Immunology, and Clinical and Translational Oncology.
Here at the GW Cancer Center, we maintain a strong focus on educating the next generation of researchers. We offer a variety of programs for different audiences, from pre-college students to junior faculty. We believe investing in the experts of tomorrow plants the seeds of discovery and innovation today.
The Dr. Cyrus and Myrtle Katzen Cancer Research Center funds a variety of innovative research projects in basic, translational and population sciences. The Katzen Cancer Research Center also provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities and supports high quality patient care at the GW Cancer Center.
The GW Cancer Center provides expert support services and state-of-the-art equipment to all members through a number of core facilites, including the Flow Cytometry Core Facility, the Biospecimen Repository, the Cancer Informatics Core Pilot, and the Stem Cell Transplantation and Cell Therapy Laboratories.
