Summer Program Advancing Research on Cancer (GW SPARC)

Audience: Undergraduate students 
Cohort size: 8 students 
Duration: 10 weeks 
Leadership: Alison Hall, PhD, and Edward Seto, PhD

GW SPARC provides an immersive summer research experience at the GW Cancer Center. Participants:

  • Conduct mentored cancer research
  • Learn laboratory techniques
  • Explore cancer health disparities
  • Build skills for future research careers

Harlan Undergraduate Research Fellowship

Audience: GW undergraduate biology majors 
Award: $5,000 stipend

This fellowship supports independent research projects conducted in collaboration with faculty in the Department of Biological Sciences.


Summer Research Chemistry Scholarships

Audience: GW undergraduate students in chemistry

Available awards include:

  • A. D. Britt Scholarship
  • Madeleine Reines Jacobs Scholarship
  • Charles R. and Elma M. Naeser Scholarship

These scholarships fund summer research in Department of Chemistry laboratories.


Luther Rice Undergraduate Research Fellowship

Audience: GW undergraduate students

Luther Rice Fellowships support student-faculty research partnerships. Funding may be used for:

  • Summer living expenses
  • Travel
  • Research materials and equipment
