She is a professor of radiology and the vice chair of radiology at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She is also the director of Breast Imaging & Intervention. Dr. Brem arrived at the George Washington University in 2000 from the Johns Hopkins Medical Institution, where she served as director of Breast Imaging.
